I usually only use the side button to turn off the screen and tap to wake. I have had what you’re describing happen but, I’ve also had tap to wake not work on the first time so I’m thinking it’s a software issue with iOS

Yeah i can understand that but am more worried about anyone who is facing the same issue have checked other iphone x's? Because i spend 90k INR on this device and I am not receiving the exact description of the problem.,,
May I know since when you are facing this similar problem?
Off and on during different versions of iOS 11. I do notice it only seems to happen if the phone has been sitting for a long time without use.

I tried unlocking my phone randomly when kept on a flat surface, I noticed the problem persists, and i don't think it would be a problem of long idle period. Have you contacted Apple service?
No, it really doesn’t bother me. It’s random and as I said, I believe it’s software related so I may actually do a clean install from scratch when iOS 12 is released to see if it makes a difference. My last clean install on my iPhone was when I got my first iPhone ( a 5S) back in 2013.. I’m sure after 5+ years, there has to be some corruption or crap in my backups that will cause glitches
