    Hi folks,

For some reason the icons alongside the sidebar in Finder are not being displayed. For example the Applications icon is not displayed alongside the word Applications in the sidebar.

Help in restoring them would be appreciated. I am using a 24" 2007 iMac running OS X 10.8.2 with 3GB memory

What the above poster said and,

Try login into different user, if it's OK there you have problems in your own account.
You could also start up in safe mode and look how it goes.

That is strange. But what about removing the Sidebar shortcuts and re-adding them?

    Can you post a screenshot?

Deleting and adding them won't make a difference I think, otherwise it would not show up in a different User Account.

What might help, try repairing permissions.

    So, it is still there.

There is also a new 10.8.2 supplemental update, did you apply it?

How about reapplying the 10.8.2 update that might help, you need the full combo 10.8.2 update.

    10.8.2 Combo Update

Edit: Seems to be quite a few problems with iMacs on 10.8.2 lately

Thanks mate. I have already installed the supplemental update, however the problem seems to have appeared after the update to 10.8.2
