Anyone else notice that Sierra is limiting HDMI? I did : (. People are plugging in their 4k, 1440p, or 3440x1440 monitors and are limited to 1080p until they switch to displayport. Apparently this is a common issue. Currently there is no fix for most users. However, for some they have been having luck forcing an EDID file. It did not work for me. Many, many bug reports have been sent to Apple about this.

At first I thought it was the monitor, which was a brand new ROG Swift PG348Q, then I thought it was my newly-installed GTX980, but then the GT120 I have for boot screens didn't work either. I have a PC as well hooked to this thing, and since no KVM will handle GSync I can't just have both on Displayport. I'm going to putz around with 1080p for a while I guess.

So there it is, no fix as far as I know. If anyone has a fix prior to apple updating it, please post here.
