I was not insulting the N4 and I will always like it as it was my first entry into Android. But after all was said and done it wasn't working for me. I forgot to add the main reason I had to give it up was battery-life. As usual with my luck the very day I shipped it to the buyer 4.2.2 dropped.

Most people don't know any better as they come from an iPhone to a Samsung android phone and assume Touchwiz is how all android phones are. All the guys that i know that have S3's and have decent knowledge of Android are running custom roms to get rid Touchwiz. Not only does it slow the phone down but but the carriers bloatware is baked right into it. Most people would kill for an S3 or even the new S4 with vanilla android from factory. I think IOS has "boring" pretty much nailed down.

All you need to do is root the phone to delete bloatware wit Titanium backup. Isnt hard at all and then unroot if you want and bloatware stays gone. As i said, i only dont like teh TpuchWiz launcher. Im fine with the dialer and message...though i dont use that either. I use Handcent but it still fine.

I think I know exactly what I am talking about when I say I find plain Android boring. I bought a Nexus 4 the day it came out. It was ok but didn't seem to excel at anything. Screen didn't seem to pop, speaker wasn't all that loud, camera was sub-par, and I really hated the on-screen nav buttons stealing screen-estate (nor did I like the work-arounds to use them when running a mod or rom to remove them).

Your previously mentioned you didn't like stock Android and your basing it all off of the Nexus 4. Which is a fair comparison until you consider your arguments.

How can you say you don't like stock Android when all your arguments are hardware based? Even if the same hardware in the Nexus 4 came from Samsung and had touchwiz on it, you will still have all the same problems you listed.

I dont know about most people here but i really like stock Android 🙂 very smooth and UI is very simple (mostly black).

Never had the need to try any launchers or custom roms.

I enjoy an OS that isn't based on gimmicky features, which is why I enjoy stock Android and am put off by touchwiz. But I do use a custom kernel, custom launcher (nova), and custom lock screen. But I am on the stock 4.2.2 rom for the time being.

You didn't read what i said properly, i never said i liked the N4 better then the S3 or N2, i said i like vanilla android over Touchwiz..........You are making this about the hardware when we are talking software lol. Like i said before, most people would kill to have the S3 hardware with vanilla android software out of the factory.

I say "navigate to Joe schmoe" and the only results that come up are a Google internet search for that name. Yes I do have it set in settings to search my contacts. Not sure. I don't try and use it to navigate to a friend's house. For friends and family, I use it for texting and calling and it works flawlessly.

Could it be that GoogleNow has trouble understanding what you say? Does it display a transcript of what it thinks you said, like Siri does?

There is no way this can be true unless all the Note "you tried" are faulty. 😛
I never see Android supporters in such desperation to say ridiculous things about iphone like "use 2 minutes dropped 5%".

Galaxy S4? Don't. First impressions says it's laggy as heck. Go for the iPhone 5S when it comes out, at least iOS was never laggy its last 3-4 iterations.

I know iOS's strength of smoothness and optimisation, but I already have a 4S and a 3rd generation iPad. I'll just wait for a nice ROM like MIUI and stay on that.

No it displays what I say perfectly. To me this is completely insane that it would work this way.

Not surprised really. Im guessing every other phone whether Android or iPhone would be similar. Looks like you have a terrible signal and the phone is draining its battery trying to lock on.

Also, Have you cut some of that screenshot off? Seems to be missing "Android System" or "Android OS"

Doesn't happen on my 4S…

I didn't cut off the screen shot, I tapped on the graph and it expanded itself.

The ones that you're talking about look totally normal like other Android phones, with the OS using up the most battery.

While I disagree with those who say the Note 2 does NOT have lag, I can't say I've experienced anything but stellar battery life with my Note 2. Just today I used my phone a ton, at least 2 hours of navigation, lots of talking, browsing, texting and getting home just now at 8 30 and it's at 57%, just amazing. My ip5 would have been dead 3 hours ago.

I'm not talking about the Note II. The Note II has zero problems in my opinion. The problems are only seen on the first generation Galaxy Note! That's similar to someone saying that their iPhone 5 doesn't have any battery problems while the person's talking about the 4S.

OK then. I guess some of us just see Note and assume the Note 2. Never had the original Note.

I'm rather sure it is rounding. I would guess in that example there was more rounding up than down.

You get 103% because it rounds to the nearest number or rounds up.

Something's on there used 1.5% but it says 2%. Get a couple things like that and it adds up to more then 100%.
