Since my iPhone 5 comes on Friday, I started taking steps today to make sure that was a quick and smooth experience. So, I cleared my jailbreak today and updated my 4S to iOS 6. I wanted to make sure if there were issues restoring from my jailbroken backup that I got them worked out in advance of the new phone coming.

Good news was, it was very painless...just did a restore+upgrade and in about 10 minutes I had iOS 6 on my phone and was restoring from my backup. 15 minutes after that I had a working phone with no apparent issues.

Not going to bother reinstalling most of my apps, since I'll just need to do it again in two days, but I'll get the ones I use a lot downloaded.

So, I'm sure there will be things I miss about being jailbroken (my themes, folder enhancer, NC Settings), but I'll survive until an iPHone 5 jailbreak.

Yeah I hear ya. I just tried out iOS 6 for a few hours today after having been jailbroken for a few months now. For me what I missed the most was Activator and NCSettings/SBSettings. Honestly I could live without all the themes, fonts, and fancy tweaks like ISX, FolderEnhancer, etc. but what bothered me the most was not having NCSettings and Activator. Toggling via the settings app seems like such a pain, especially adjusting brightness, when it used to be a single swipe of the NC. Also, I had my Activator gestures setup so I NEVER had to use the home button. Now, I feel like I'm abusing my phone by constantly having to double tap the home button all the time. Needless to say I made sure to switch back ASAP before Apple stops signing 5.1.1 since I have an A5 device. The only thing appealing to me about iOS 6 is, of all things, the improvements made to the Reminders app lol
