I've started getting a "sign in to itunes store" popup periodically on my iOS devices (may be related to iOS 10.2) where it asks me for my iTunes password. I enter this and it goes away until it comes back the next day or so.

Any idea why this is happening and how to fix it?

Of note, normally I never have to enter my iTunes password since I have Touch ID enabled.

I upgraded via iTunes on my laptop last nite and was asked to sign in with iTunes PW even before I was allowed to proceed with making a backup prior to upgrading. Try opening your desktop version of iTunes and see if you're asked to login there. Maybe it'll help. I've never been bothered with the behavior you described, but I also always upgrade via iTunes vs OTA.
