Hi all,

I currently am leasing an iPhone through T-Mobile but want to switch to iUP for this next iPhone.

Is there a way to sign up without purchasing a phone? Just so my account is all ready to go when the next one comes out?

Tried looking all over the web/chatting with Apple, but can't figure it out. Thanks for the help!

Brian

You can go to the Apple Store app, select the new iPhone the day it is announced and then you you can get pre-approved for the loan before the pre-order goes live.

Steps:
1. Click the link or use Apple Store app: https://www.apple.com/shop/iphone/iphone-upgrade-program/join
2. Select new 2018 iPhone
3. Complete loan application and get pre-approved
4. Come back to the app at 12.01AM on the day of the pre-order to complete the purchase

Appreciate the help! So I have to wait for the announcement to get pre-approved? Just a little confused on timing.

I'd love to get pre-approved now, if I could.

Thank you though!

Bumping this to see if anyone has signed up for iUP mid-cycle without actually getting an iPhone?

You will need to wait till preorder goes live to enroll in iUP as a new customer. If you are currently on iUP, they’ll likely do the pre-approval thing.

Im curious if Apple/citizen one does a hard check every time if your already enrolled

I got 2 hard credit checks last year and I was replacing phones on IUP. 1 bought 3 phones ( for my kids) and it took a while to deliver 1 of them. I think I read that qualification was good for 30 days - which could explain my 2 hits. I see these hits on Credit Karma app

I wouldn't prequalify until close to launch.

Got it. I won't worry about it until pre-order day. Assuming the sign-up process isn't terribly long? Appreciate the help!

**** that ****...thats ridiculous, but at the same time i get it..its almost like if they want it bad enough they will take the hit just not remotely worth it especially if someone got a X this year in January
