I am now happily jailbroken on 4.0 but wouldnt mind the updated signal mapping and larger 1 bar block. Is there a way to do it without having to upgrade?

I backed up.
Upgraded to 4.01 as new phone.
Jailbroke the phone again.
Then restored everything.
This is probably more than you would have to do. I don't know.

you cant backup jailbroken apps (as far as I'm aware). Which would mean reinstalling everything again. 🙁
Maybe not. I used a fairly clean backup right after the jailbreak.
I wanted to get it done before they went to 4.1 and had to do it a harder way.

Buy PkgBackup. It does a one touch re-install of all Cydia repos and Cydia apps. Well worth the money !

Iv tried it(if not a similar app) before but didn't do a very good job.
Yeah I know 4.01 can be jailbroken but it meens starting again with jailbroken software and the settings for them. Will take me a while. I thought they may have been an easy patch.

Perhaps you tried the free one, that one is useless. PkgBackup works 100% but is not free.
