They’re certainly not ‘in your face’, why can’t you just not use them?

I dont, thats the point. As I dont use them, I dont need them to be in the application, taking up storage on my devices.
I cannot be alone in this, surely.

I’m sure the storage space used by the (3) default stickers that I have on my app after having checked is quite irrelevant. Also, no other messaging app which utilises stickers (most of them) has the option to turn them off - that I have seen anyway.
Thirdly, it’s of the upmost importance for a privacy friendly open source app like Signal to absolutely adopt all of the features of mainstream apps it’s trying to woo users from.
