I'm so excited, I cannot wait for June to jump in the lake. Yeah, I get excited over the simplest things. :)

Over the weekend here it was beautiful in the high 50's yesterday it rained. Midweek we're supposed to get another cold snap, back down to the 30 for a couple days.

It's funny, this winter was relitivly mild we only had 2 real snowstorms but the extreme temp changes from day to day made it worse for me. I mean we had high 50's in January then the next day it was below 0 with the wind chill. I think we broke some records this year for the "highs".

By the way I'm in New York about 2 hours up from the city.

5) Turned on the fan for the first time in months
4) I woke up to pollen on my car today
3) Those darn Bradford Pear trees that smell like a** (expecially when the roots get into the septic tank).
2) There's some nice flowers popping up along the road.

and the number one reason: I can wear shorts again!

Yeah, I washed the car yesterday and it is already trashed today.

I wore shorts yesterday. Thank God for tanning beds.

On my way to/from work, the women's cross-country team and other jogger hotties have switched to tight shorts. :p

The Signs of Spring on the University Campus:

-Short mini-skirts start appearing even though the last few weeks were cold enough that it snowed a little.

-When my roommate does not crank up the heater all the way to the max at night.

-When I start thinking that it is time for me to get a little sun before my European trip after graduation.

-Winter Quarter Finals week

It's 80ºF and partly cloudy here in Charlotte... we never really had a winter this year. Only one or two nights where it even dropped close to freezing, and nothing more than a few snowflakes here and there. Pretty much all of the trees have flowered already.

A few weeks ago it got a little warm. It snowed yesterday though, so Utah is still undecided about spring. I need to get out of here. Serious cabin-feever setting in.

At work, I have no window. I live in a little cubicle. What is this weather that you all speak of?

Actually, on Friday I did something I haven't done since high school. At my other job/externship, we were had lunch outside in the middle of a park. After lunch, I took a nice 30 min walk down to the White House to check out the tourists...their so funny when they walk around all lost. :D I just hope that the burrito man comes back soon...

It's still winter here.

Yikes....

I know this will sound corny but a sign of spring in my neighborhood would be the warmer weather (duh) but the sound of the wind outside (some of you might not understand / appreciate that but I sure do)

Spring in Central Texas is here with the leaves coming back on the trees, and the flowers starting to appear. Today is a nice sunny/breezy day. This is spring break in our area and the neighbors were out trimming the trees and we spend the weekend doing spring cleaning.

Also every spring is the UIL (University Interscholastic League) spring meet, and that is next week, another sign of spring time.

Let's see, I'm in South Central Texas, so:

  1. It's getting hot now...I sweat walking 20 feet.
  2. It is so humid I can swim to work.
  3. We have wildfire warnings on the news.
  4. My allergies are so bad I wish iGary would send his racoon here to scratch out my eyes.
  5. The trees are blooming, but they'll only be that way for about 3 weeks until the sun kills it all.

If you can't tell, I dislike Texas greatly! Oh to be up north again! :p

Ah the signs of Spring!

Well when I was walking outside on Saturday there were a few bars/cafes/restraunts that had opened their patios... it's officially spring in Toronto when you have 10 straight days of weather is good enough to relax on an open patio with no more than a light spring jacket.

Saddly though it's going down to 0 celcius tonight which will break the conditions set out above by about 8 days.

The next sign of spring is the return of short skirted business women, and jacketless business men to the downtown core. :D

Photo thread!

Ok... iGary, this post was a great idea, so thanks, hope you don't mind but I posted a thread titled "Signs of spring in your neighborhood: photo thread" over on the photo board! I mentioned your name too, haha. :)
So, if anyone feels like posting some pics of blooming daffodils or something there....:) And baby goats are welcome to be reposted!
So, thanks iGary for the idea!

You northern folks come down here and can't stand it :D

Here at the University of Bath, UK the only sign of spring are people talking about "spring break." As for any physical signs there are sadly none. It snow stormed two days ago and there are no spring plants yet only ones brought into sainsbury's (a supermarket).

One tornado, another super cell burst an hour and a half later; then my son and his friends, abandoning his car at Taco Bell to run inside when the twister hit. They locked their doors! Son and friends sprint across to their campus in pouring rain and hail the size of golf balls. Today, they are none the wiser....true "sophomores". Temperature shifts in 24 hours (80°F-28°F).

Awww, now I feel bad. Sorry, no room for a tourist.

Yeah, especially ones that frown all the time. :p

I don't even think it's that hot here. Sometimes it is, but today, for example, was cool. At worst, it was slightly warm, and I'm a cold weather person. I'm the type of person who sweats when it's 20C out and thinks 15-20C is the perfect temperature, even in summer.

And now it's raining a bit, the air is cool, and all is well.

The women in my neighborhood have begun shedding their layers of clothing.
