Silica gel packs - simple question

I was about to put reusable Silica gel pack in my camera bag to get some extra protection against autumn moisture. Just wanted to make 100% sure (from your experience) that it is a safe option - can’t make any negative influence on my camera gear/lenses...?

I keep the random packets I get in packages for various uses. Never thought to have one in a camera bag. I usually just throw a few in our fire safe where old documents are stored.

I think the gel packs are pretty much used up by the time we get them in our boxes arent they? If not go for it but dont mistake them for funzise chocolate treats...

They work very well to protect your gear in damp environments. The silica does need to be dried-out every once in a while though.

Definitely without harm.
