silicone case cracking

Ive had my iPhone 12 silicone case for a month now and its already cracking at the edges. I went to the apple store and they said they do not have a warranty on it anymore. Is this correct? I thought apple products had a 1 year warranty. did this change?

I had a little piece break off the edge of mine. I had purchased it through Amazon, and they did an exchange no questions asked. But I would suspect that Apple should do it if it's only a month or so old.
