I'm hearing the case aligns perfectly with the lens, meaning that the lens is in contact with whatever surface the phone is on. Can anyone confirm?

Nope the lens is slightly recessed. Great case.

I second your confirmation. The lens is recessed from the case.

I think I will be picking up a Apple silicon case... first time owning a plus and it feels good in my hands until I put a case on it. All the "thin" cases I have tried add extra width to the phone which makes it unusable with one hand. ex. the spigen hybrid ultra thin case added about 1/4in if not more in width. it might be thin but increasing the width of an already wide phone is crazy. all bumper cases see to do this.
