I couldn't locate this information easily. After reading a lot about the watch, but perhaps missing this point, how will software updates get to the watch? Via bluetooth from the phone, OTA, can the charge cable transmit data? Is the data port noted on the watch the only way to update? If there is another why have the port entry on try-on models? Just something to comment on in lieu of reading the shipping comments again...and again...and again.

Please no harshing if I missed this obvious fact, that I can't seem to locate. Thanks!

I know the software update thing is in the settings from the iPhone Apple watch app. Other then that I think we'll have to wait a few weeks to really figure out how they will work.

Maybe we have to take it to the store and they will update it for us through that secret port hidden on the back of the watch.

I'm quite sure it'll be through the Watch app on the phone.

I'm more curious for diagnostic issues. I wonder if they have some sort of strap or cable that would connect where the diagnostic port is for flashing or restoring the watch.

via the Apple Watch app, at least according to screenshots of the app (look in top right of below image)
