Silly Time Machine Question

Will my Time Machine back-up work on my MPB 17" if I close the lid?

I'm guessing Mac Basics and Help would be the right forum, or perhaps Mac Software.

No, Time Machine won't run when you close the lid on your MBP, but it won't crash or break anything if you close the lid when TM's running (TM will resume when you open the lid back up). Look at it this way: when the lid's closed, your data's not changing, so there's no need to back it up 🙂
