If you have "clinical OCD," the silver SS Apple Watch is absolutely the one to get. Not only will Cape Cod cloths take out all the small stuff, but if you gouge the watch badly, you can still polish it out with something stronger like Mother's Mag and Aluminum polish. I posted this more than six years ago, but yeah - I banged my S0 on a glass counter less than a month after getting it, and was able to complete remove the gouge with some polish and a battery-powered dremel from the dollar store, fitted with a q-tip rather than a bit. I posted before and after pics here:

For a second, I thought you was going to say the silver SS was NOT the one to get :D.

Nearly had me worried, there.

Or you could get a case. Yeah, you won't be able to enjoy the steel look, so if you are going this route, probably better to get the aluminum. But it's another possible way to keep yourself from obsessing over scratches.
Thanks for the advice, but I think cases on watches look ridiculous.

I suppose I have to learn from my lesson, come to the conclusion that it’s a risky item to have, and just enjoy it!

I’m going to try to get the marks polished out, though. They’re only tiny, and visible if you’re really looking for them and at certain angles under certain light, but I know they’re there.

I’ll try with my Tiffany polishing cloth tomorrow. I’m at my nan’s until then.

The Cape Cod cloths work really well for small scratches on the SS: they won’t take out really deep gouges, but the day to day surface scratches come out really well. If I were you I’d get some from Amazon and give it a go, they’re not expensive. Just be careful not to get any of the polishing compound that’s embedded into them into any of the ports.
Thanks, bud.

I've had mine for about a month and a half. So far only one faint surface scratch. Nothing really noticeable. I want my SS to develop a nice patina over time so I'm not worried about scratches.

My theory is to just enjoy it, wear it for 2 years, then do a trade in.

Can you show a photo of your scratch?

Where is it?

Is it very noticeable?

How did it occur?
