Before I went to sleep I put my iPhone X on wireless charge, the next morning the screen is unresponsive for a few seconds. When it comes on, it says no sim card installed (A sim I've used for almost a year totally fine) I tried cleaning the sim and wiping it but it still doesn't work, also nearly 6,000 songs in my music library have vanished. Something deffo happened whilst it was charging wireless I think :( Does anyone have any theories??

lol I meant in addition to it screwing up my sim card my music library is missing over half of the songs

SIM cards go bad sometimes. Could happen for a variety of reasons. I've had to replace one and I know others who have too. Just call, or stop in at your carrier's store.

As far as your songs. I'm guessing you have them (or just some of them) stored on the cloud? It would make sense if you can't access them because you're not connected to a network. Can you try connecting to a WiFi network and see if they become available?

Your iPhone should have come with a SIM anyway, right? Just contact your carrier and have them transfer your service to that unused SIM.

My carrier does not provide one in the box for an iPhone. So I'm not sure how that would work in the OP's process.

Huh, that's interesting. I guess I was thinking about the OP using one of the big carriers over in the UK and assuming it was treated the same as here (Sprint, T-Mo, etc). But looking back now, I was clearly wrong.

OP proceed carefully, the "No SIM" error is often not related to the actual SIM but an indication of an issue with the iPhone.

Often just removing and resetting the SIM in the SIM tray will allow the iPhone to read the SIM.

I was driving home today using my phone for navigation. When I got home and unplugged I noticed my phone said no sim card installed. I was having issues with service and getting good signal so my carrier already shipped out a new sim card for me. The new sim card arrived today as well. My carrier had me troubleshoot a bit but that didn't help. So they switched me over to my new sim card and a few hours later I'm back at no sim card installed. This is looking like a defect with the iPhone.
