is it possible to take the SIM card out of my iPhone 6s and put it in a pro. Would it than work and fool Verizon into thinking all was well.

Don't see why not. Have always been able to freely move my Verizon SIM card between different Verizon compatible devices. Are you having to resort to that because Verizon won't activate a new SIM for your non-Verizon purchased iPP? If so, just make sure to create the appropriate APN to get mobile data.

I was just curious. While on vacation instead of using hotspot may get faster service directly
