Is there such a thing as Sim Free iPhone 4 in USA?
Not sure if there will ever be such a thing as SIM free and/or Unocked.
Sim free in the US. Yes a Verizon iPhone since CDMA does not use sim cards
An unlocked phone? No you cannot buy a factory unlocked iPhone in the US
Cheers guys, my dad is in NYC and been offered one for $700 but I didnt think such thing existed
Officially, no. De la Vega still holds Jobs' pancreas hostage.
Apple sells iPhones unlocked in Canada and Mexico, but not in the US. It's both sad and ironic.
Sure he was "offered" one... on the streets!
If it's truly factory unlocked, then that's a decent deal, especially if it's in good condition, considering you can't buy them in the US and they cost like $750 ish new here.
Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3 like Mac OS X; en-gb) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8F190 Safari/6533.18.5)
It exists elsewhere, though (United Kingdom, Canada, France, etc.). It could be legitimate. I'd find out more from the buyer about how they acquired the phone.
Ask to see a receipt, try the phone with a non-ATT SIM and make sure that the basement is above 1.59.00.
What if the basement is below 4th floor?
It would make sense if you meant baseband
Being from NY, I thought he was making a joke about 1st and 59th...
Sorry gents, I am my iPhone and for some reason I guess it changes base band (one word) to basement. My apologies for the confusion, I wasn't making any NY jokes.
If you're near the Canadian boarder, just purchase one from Canada.
if they are imported from Canada (or another country that sells unlocked), then yes they are around in the US. but they don't directly sell them from the Apple Store unlocked.
