Probably a long shot, but I'm hoping to be able to snag a sim-free option since I'm on Verizon Prepaid.

Historically it's been three months after launch.

You do know though that all Verizon LTE devices come unlocked right?

That may have been the case for the 6 and 6 Plus. But not for the 6S/6S Plus/7/7 Plus, they were ready to order 4 weeks after the initial launch.

As above me posted, it looks like US now will have Sim-free models available during launch, at least for the 8 and 8 Plus.
[doublepost=1505245191][/doublepost]Can we also create a Sim-Free Model Pre-order thread for the iphone 8/8 Plus for US? They are available for pre-orders too.

I am glad the Sim-Free models are available at launch. I am definitely going unlocked. I hope it doesn't change before Friday.

Thanks for not answering my query whatsoever. Very helpful information. Thumbs up.
I did answer your question. You bought the T-Mobile phone, which had the Intel modem. It’s widely known that phone is not compatible accross all carriers. Furthermore, if you bought it through T-Mobile they require that you have your phone on a T-Mobile account for 40 days before they will unlock it. Usually when people ask what carrier version is “unlocked” they want to know which phone to buy that will work accross all carriers. Your phone will not, and the Intel modem is widely known to be inferior compared to the Qualcomm modem. Don’t get upset with me because you don’t know what you purchased.

Only if bought through Apple if IIRC. I plan on buying through Apple and financing through them as it will include AC
Yep, this is what I did and that was why I had that assumption... Thanks!

LOL I know exactly what I purchased. Don't get snotty with me because you're incapable of taking (accurate) criticism, little boy.

You didn't answer the question whatsoever. Intel modems being the "inferior" phones =! is this phone unlocked?

Also the information you were so bent on trying to convey like an ass isn't even correct. I did buy the T-Mobile phone, and guess what... it is the A1661 model #, which means QCOM processor. This is because I bought through Apple directly, as another poster was nice enough to point out in a nice, non-confrontational manner. Way to spread misinformation to anyone looking for a correct answer though. Another "thumbs up" earned!

Nice melt brah! If another poster had to point out that the T-Mobile phones from Apple were unlocked than you didn’t know what you bought. How would anyone know how you purchased your phone based on the question you asked and the very few details you provided. What a strange thing to get trigger over.

You're literally too dumb to respond to. Good day.
