When will they have this available in the Apple Store app? I don't use any of the big carriers so I'm waiting for the unlocked sim free version.

Who knows. For the 7 and 7 Plus it was 4 weeks after the initial launch. Same went for the 6S and 6S Plus. I'd expect it to be similar or sometime early next year.

Do you have an Apple store near by? If so, keep an eye on Verizon models that may hit inventory. All Verizon iPhone are "Unlocked" just not SIM Free. The SIM Free model will be the exact same hardware as the Verizon models.

You don't really need any Verizon information, just purchase a Verizon model "Device Only". It will be unlocked but have a Verizon nano-SIM pre-installed that you can remove and replace with your Carrier's SIM.

Verizon and T-mobile phones, just don't activate with the sim which you get with it.

My friend is using verizon phone with a different sim.

I was able to order a T-Mobile iPhone X online last week but would prefer the Verizon iPhone X for CDMA support. I tried to order the Verizon version from Apple's website but it required Verizon account information. Do you think the store would require Verizon account as well?

When purchasing the Verizon mode in store at full price, they do not require Verizon account and well sell as "Device Only".

I'd check your small carrier and see when they'll start selling them. It seems a lot of the smaller ones are getting the X quicker than expected this time around.

Unfortunately, I use the "big" carrier AT&T but because it is a prepaid account, it won't allow me to buy an AT&T iPhone X online. Beside, I would like to get CDMA support for international travel, so getting any GSM phone is not an option.
