hi guys,
i will give you the whole story,
i bought an iphone 6, and i had full access to the home screen, camera and other apps without a SIM card (my sim card doesn't work, maybe need to unlock) , there is no icloud account and find my iphone : off. but after erasing the iphone, i got "SIM Not Supported" and if i setting up the iphone without SIM Card, i got "SIM Required". is there a way to reset the iphone as it was, like an ipod ?

You can buy a gevey turbo sim on ebay just try it might work

In order to activate it and get in to the home screen you will need a SIM card from the network the phone is locked to.
Or if you can get an imei unlock then it will work and activate with any sim.
First thing you need to do is find out what network it's locked to.
If it's O2 GB carrier then you can contact them and ask them to unlock it and if they won't see if you can purchase a 3rd party unlock for it.

My iPhone 7 Plus is the A1784 unlocked model purchased directly from Apple and it requires a SIM card (doesn't matter which carrier) to be installed during setup. Can't get past the activation screen without it.

Yes, pretty much that's how all iphones work and have been.
You need a sim to get into the homescreen and passed the activation screen.
If its unlocked any sim will do, even an old sim that's not even active will work.
