Simple drafting software

I have to design a layout around the house and a few rooms inside. Need your recommendation on a simple software that will do that. Nothing fancy (I do not want to go back to Autocad experience), 2-dimensional is all I need.

You may want to try Google Sketchup. Free and not too complicated to use.

DraftSight is a really good 2D CAD software and its free, same company that owns and runs SolidWorks so they know what they are doing.

I recently upgraded from a Windows PC and used MS Publisher. Now that I I've upgraded to a Mac, the Office for Mac bundle has an excellent drawing program in Word.
