Simple/free web editor

I am new to MAC and need to be able to update an existing Website.

I ma looking for a simple/free web editor that I can drop the code into and make the changes necessary.

I recently purchased "espresso" from MACHEIST but cannot seem to make it work.

Any suggestions?
