Grandson's kindergarten class (school( is out for the virus and I'd like to have some fun with him digitally (we live in different countries).
I'd like to take a picture of myself and change the color of my beard (red, blue, green, etc()and play a, Is Grandpa's beard the same or different.
Adobe's Photoshop looks expensive for a simple game. Is there another software that can do this beard color change easily and with no charge? Thanks for any assistance with a silly idea.

Most kindly,
OkiRun

GIMP is always an option. It's a bit clumsy compared to Photoshop, but it will definitely handle a color change and most necessary photo editing. Just don't expect a full featured Photoshop clone and you won't be disappointed.

Good luck!

Affinity Photo is a good alternative. They are offering 3 months free now(due to COVID-19) and also 50% off their price which is low already. Well reviewed and really the best Photoshop alternative.

I already had bought Photo end Designer licenses earlier, now I bought Publisher too to make a trio complete.
And it has happened that I now have them all on my PC too.

I don't use them all day or sometimes not in days or even weeks, but they are worth it when I do.
+1 to Affinity series, in this case Photo app.

+1 for Affinity, I didn't realize it was free at the moment. It's a great Photoshop alternative, and might even have less steep of a learning curve than anything besides Photoshop Elements.

I don't think it's entirely free, but it's an extended free trial, up from one month to free months, I believe.

I tried Afinity awhile ago and it didn't work for me. I manipulate a lot of images to print, and Afinity's printing protocol was too rigid for me. Photoshop works great for me, but I will not "rent" software. Photoshop Elements, while not as versatile as the full version works for me.

It was just for a game to play and so I went with a free trial version.
