When I used Firefox (trying to make the switch to Safari), I could create a bookmark, and give it a keyboard shortcut association.

(IE, I had Google set to "gg", so any time I typed GG in the address bar, it would load Google)

Is there any way to do this w/ Safari?

Thanks!

It takes a little bit of Terminal hacking, but it's pretty easy and straightforward.

Alternatively, if you use the Bookmarks Bar, Command-1 will open the first bookmark, Command-2 the second one, etc. Note that if you have bookmarks inside folders on the Bookmarks Bar, it will ignore those and skip to the next item on the bar.
