Im helping my wife put a website together, and she has a good template. We need a nice, free program that we can use to put text on pictures, like buttons on its navigation. Something good that has Anti Aliasing and to slap on some quick text on these .GIF images that came blank with the template.

There are plenty of good options out there. My guess is you're going to hear quite a bit of the GIMP and possibly some votes for Seashore, a simpler GIMP like program.

You could also use an online option like SplashUp, many free programs are now available.
