Simple question

I have a 2009 MacBook that the battery is going on. I also have a super old 2006 Mac mini I need to replace. My thought process is to buy a new used MacBook Pro and let me MacBook replace my mini. My question is can I run a monitor keyboard and mouse with the laptop closed like I can with my windows laptops?

Yep... Apple calls that "clamshell mode" and it works just fine. Here is a Apple support link that explains it.

This. Just make sure you are connected to a power source. You are going to need to purchase this or something similar
