simple request

I've been using SuperDuper! to make bootable backups of my system. Now i want to transfer videos to my external HD so they wont be on my Macbook anymore. I understand i'd probably have to partition my external, put the bootable on one partition, and videos on the other. Would the SuperDuper! partition still be bootable? Would i then be able to drag and drop videos onto the other partition? If it can be done, how would i go about doing so? Thanks in advanced.

I have 2 partitions on my external, one bootable, one for files.

I'd use Disk Utility to partition the drive (keep in mind you'll lose all the data so save it somewhere) and then make a bootable partition again on one side, and use the other part for your movies

I don't think you need to go that far. A bootable backup will not be compromised by manually adding a folder. You can easily test it.
