I am looking for a simple set up using Apple TV. Basically I plan to connect to my home theater mainly to rent movies from Itunes but may purchase some. I have a lot of dvd's but don't really know if I want to try to put those on a hard drive or not.
I am not sure I completely understand the interface with Apple TV as far as my main computer (which is a Imac). I also have a spare mac book but don't want to leave it full time in the theater. I do plan to purchase a hard drive that will store whatever I do decide to buy (and ultimately I guess whatever I decide to rip).
So what do I need to accomplish this? And how will it impact my itunes music which I like the way it works now as I have Iphones. I also want something simple so the family can just rent movies like they do from the cable box.
Any suggestions for a "basic" set up?
