I'm looking for a video editor on OS X (preferably free), that can allow me to cut and paste video clips.

What I'm trying to do is take an entire TV season and splice the episodes together without the credits/intro in between.

I just want to splice it together, with no change in quality, and no export size that ends up being 4x the original file size.

Any recommendations?

Most of the free video converter type apps will do this.

If quicktime can play the video, you can use it. Trim two clips to remove credits, add the second to the end of the first, then trim another and add it, continue. Then export the combined clip in whatever format you want.
