I love the part when Lisa says "Yeah! Im a Mapple person!" and the Mapple guy says "We are all Mapple People" and somehow that bums her out.

I can't read all these replies so if someone mentioned this then disregard:

How about when Homer started his own internet business and all it was a table , a steno pad and a phone. It got so big that Gates came in and offered to acquire his business and they wreck his table. I guess it was only a matter of time before Apple made it there.

i believe you mean Hypercompuglobalmeganet :p
Simpsons is so great man, So is Family Guy!

"He's like a God, he knows exactly what we want!"

I think it's "He's like a God that knows exactly what we want."

I thought it was okay. The small bits were excellent, like Homer begging the MyCube to tell him to do something, or the MyCube's light indicating that it's off. That's some good satire. These days, though, the Simpsons always manages to take some menial concept and blow it out of proportion into some ridiculous scenario that only the most immature of viewers would appreciate (ie. Bart spontaneously sabotaging Mobs' speech and the employees flaying him with earbuds... that was a little stupid).

The old Simpsons of the nineties is gone. Simple jokes and awkward but funny reactions from Homer were what made the show. Passing off stupidity as something normal and commonplace in Springfield, instead of blowing it out of proportion and just making the entire show look like a ridiculous waste of time and energy.

Futurama is better than the Simpsons now, but I don't think it's better than the Simpsons of the early-to-mid nineties. Those were the days.

I agree, its much funnier, and they have done some Microsoft parodying on it, too.

The last Apple joke Simpsons done was crap ("iPhones now 20 cents" announcement), but this one was good like I said before.

wow, now that was a bad commercial.
i know im probably missing something here as i do not understand the importance of 1984 (was it a book?)

"1984" (the book) is the origin of the phrase "Big Brother is watching you", which I'm sure you're familiar with. It is sometimes scary, in this day and age, to see how prophetic that book is becoming. In the book, citizens are constantly being monitored through their telescreens, and punished for going against the wishes of the government. Today we have the internet and terrorist watchlists and keyword scanning and surveillance cameras everywhere.

In the book, the government has become so good at revisionist history and self-serving propaganda that they have entire divisions of employees whose job is to erase references, rewrite books, burn incriminating articles, etc.

Citizens are so naive and brainwashed that they'll accept whatever their leader tells them to be good, even if their own instincts tell them it is not. Even if it is worse than what they had before, as long as Big Brother says it is better, they accept that it is better and that they must be mistaken in thinking otherwise. You can see why Apple chose to use this illustration when it comes to computers...

the REAL reference (re: the "1984" reference)

I sincerely hope that the hammer-through-the-giant-screen reference was to this:

(sorry if someone else beat me to this)

But she then rotated it to landscape view as you would with an iTouch.

NO!

You wouldn't do that with an iTouch! You would do that with an iPOD Touch!

Since when did we start taking the POD out of the iPod.

Crap, my iClassic ran out of battery power.
Hey, you got a Red iNano!
I like the older iShuffles.

All these statements sound bad right? They should.

If that link sends you too the 1984 Macintosh ad that has been mimicked and mocked for the past 24 years, and put Apple on the map for a short while, then yes.

I hope that the ad isn't new to you. :D

p.s. After sitting in an Apple store for a short while, and by the way many iPhone users act and how they react to every new phone that comes out that isn't even trying to be called an "iPhone killer"..... YES the Simpsons have effectively captured the way many Apple users, Zealots, and fanpersons act on a daily basis.

iTouch myself... I really do not get why people can't say "touch" they have to add an "I" in front of it but it doesn't bug me.

I thought the simpsons episode was meh. I haven't found the Simpsons funny in the longest time.

Although the whole steve and bill making out on my money thing was pretty damn funny.

That's really funny.
Now I am wondering whether apple store will sell this episode or not.

OMG now that is funny if Apple "denied" selling this episode, but with their heavy handed approach to iPhone application that they "don't like", it would not surprise me.
