Okay, so I was playing sims for a long time, and I know my system requirements are met. The problem was that I was going to the root folder to get some custom content, and while in the folder "c-drive", I noticed that beside the program files, there was "windows". I deleted it, because it wasn't there before, but now the game won't start up at all. I clicked the app icon and it opens for a second, and shuts down.

    It's really frustrating.

You deleted critical parts of the game and need to reinstall it... you could maybe try re-installing the last Sims 3 update.

The Sims 3 for Mac is basically the PC version wrapped in a kind of Windows called Cider, which is why inside the game it looks like the contents of a pc hard drive "C:/Program Files"... etc. It's also why it runs like ass.
