In Mojave (what i use regularly), i get an immediate generic error that i cant transfer because it might be an unrecognized file type. (They're MOV). When i use Catalina-Montery, the phone keeps connecting and disconnnecting every few seconds. Quickly pressing trust this computer doesnt help. The new software to support the IOS prompts for download and installs but that doesnt help. Using a USB cable. No video settings have changed. HDR off. iPhone 12 Pro. Any help would be appreciated.

Try a different cable. Have seen this in the past with damaged cables, particularly Apple supplied.

No because on Mojave, it doesnt disconnect, only on Catalina+. And I tried a different cable. no luck

Solved. Tried a free third party program (EaseUS). Worked perfect on Mojave. I cant believe i didnt think of using a different app earlier
