Since I updated to iOS 8.3 the 'other' portion of memory has doubled in size.

    Does anyone know why?

Does anyone know how to reduce it?

My "other" data became huge after 8.3 update, apple says to restore to new to fix, I don't want to wipe out all my info. They said a backup will just put it back. I have 37gb of other now

My "other" diminished to almost nothing(340MB) after updating to 8.3.

My 'Other' has now reduced to 1.68 - half of what it was on iOS 8.2.

My documents / data has increased in size by a gigabyte, but that still leaves an overall reduction.

I'm pleased at this reduction, but I don't understand why it was at 6 or 7GB for the days after the update.

I'm not pretty sure if "Other" data is moved to Documents and Data. I also experienced increase in others data when I updated my 6+ to iOS 8.3.

Did you update to iOS 8.3 through OTA?
Maybe these are update installation files, which weren't erased and now stuck on iPhone. You may try these simple methods to get rid of "Other" data from your iOS device.
