EU requires Apple to make the underlying engines open/interchangeable. Apple doesn't want to or can't comply by the way they have designed Siri. So they can't make it available.
"What's a 15% tip on $84?"
Siri can't do this now? 0.15 * 84.00 is beyond its capabilities?
Good thing
For you. Works for me.I can assure you the "Where was this photo taken" function does not work.
Ive been using it for about 3 days now. It's pretty effing amazing to be fair. As it stands now, it only interacts with apple native apps. Id imagine by the time it released in september, a tonne of popular third party apps will allow access. The article mentions things like "across your apps" and "works in any app"
I use GMail as my email client and Fantastical/Google for my calendar. And other 3rd-party messaging apps.
Do we think the new Siri will be as good in 3rd-party apps as it would in Apple's own 1st-party apps?
🤔
Works pretty well for me....For you. Works for me.
To be fair this is the first Beta. It is still 3months away for "Launch"It’s incredible to see a company with the resources it has still unable to deliver the product in more than one language on a launch date.

They have announced it would be first available in English only, had it been only beta, they wouldn’t need to highlight it this wayTo be fair this is the first Beta. It is still 3months away for "Launch"
They are going very safe way but our blogger Petr Mara has found that Siri understand much more languages already but just in text regime. He was able to talk to her in Czech without problem. So it probably use Gemini underlying technology but not accessible through voice interface. you can only use Speech to text to enter text prompts. It’s incredible to see a company with the resources it has still unable to deliver the product in more than one language on a launch date.
I guess it is exactly what Apple did.Two years too late. Apple needs to just kill Siri and start fresh. Siri has been doing nothing but disappointing people for over a decade. The name ‘Siri’ is synonymous with bad, useless technology
I don’t think so. The DMA, whether you love it or hate it, is a flagship EU tech law initiative, and there will be no exceptions - especially for tech giants. Also, given the level of bureaucracy involved, repealing the DMA would take at least two to three years, and blocking iOS features for that long could result in significant financial losses for Apple.if it were china things would go different I feel, but with EU it seems apple can afford the luxury of non obedience.
lol…he asked Siri for the nearest coffee shop and it gave him a link to buying underwear. They are going very safe way but our blogger Petr Mara has found that Siri understand much more languages already but just in text regime. He was able to talk to her in Czech without problem.

Maybe in 2040. Screen mirroring has been around for two years and is still not available in the EU...IVe been waiting for this for so long... when do you think we'll get it in the EU?
Same year when they will introduce the 3rd language for Siri 😂Maybe in 2040. Screen mirroring has been around for two years and is still not available in the EU...
*Every* device capable of Apple Intelligence has the exact same new Siri experience, everything you saw at the Keynote. The only difference with the 12gb models (17 Pro/Max/Air) is that they have an extra interface letting them tweak the Siri voice and an improved transcription algorithm for dictation purposes. So what happens on Pre-A17 Pro devices? Do we get the new interface (but without the new abilities)? Do we keep the old "lights around the screen" effect? Are there any upgrades to Siri performance, or have we been essentially cut off (or even regressed)?
You're not missing out.IVe been waiting for this for so long... when do you think we'll get it in the EU?
