Okay I know that voice dictation is the opposite of using a keyboard BUT I want my siri button back for voice dictation!

With the keyboard attached you get a little grey bar that pops up at the bottom of the page when you are typing, this lets you see the suggested words and some font controls but NO Siri dictation microphone! You CAN pop up the on screen keyboard to see it but really? Two keyboards are overkill just for voice dictation ;-)

@Apple I miss my Siri mic, please bring her back when docked on the magic keyboard.

Signed,
Never thought I’d say
”I miss Siri”

There’s a way around this issue;

When you’re typing, look at the bottom right of the bar that shows up where predictive text is. Do you need the arrow pointing down? Tap and hold it and the on-screen keyboard will appear. From here you should see the dictation key. If it doesn’t show up, make sure it’s turned on and also remove the iPad and reattach it. I just did this myself to confirm.

It’s not ideal, but it’s something in the meantime. Hope this helps.

Thank you !
I don’t type fast so I use dictation a lot for longer letters and this was a feature that I was missing a lot

I think I’ve found a slightly quicker way. If you press the Emoji key twice, after a second it brings up the on-screen keyboard. From there you can select the microphone. I only have the emoji and UK keyboards installed, if you have more, then more presses of the key may be required.
