G'day,

Siri has stopped working on my iPhone 8 / iOS 12. Hasn't worked for a few weeks now.

If I say "Hey Siri", or hold the Home button and talk, it goes to the Siri screen, and the "sound spectrum" at the bottom of the screen appears to match my voice (not sure if this is only a fake representation or if it's really matching what the phone is listening to??).

But, instead of answering my query, whatever it may be, there is just a pause, followed by "Go ahead, I'm listening".

Repeat the question - again the spectrum shows it hears me, but - acts as if I've said nothing.

After a while of not doing anything, she says - Sorry - and complains about the internet connection (and yet the connection is fine for all other apps; no drop outs or anything).

I have turned Siri off and back on again, turned the phone off and back on again. No change.

Any ideas how to get her working again?

Cheers

cosmic

PS I know, I know - it's not a "she".

After weeks of no go - Siri is now working.

Didn't do nothing that could have made her work again, but she is.

Go figure.

Too Soon!

Problem came straight back - only worked for a few hours at best.

Now again, recognises that I want Siri to do something for me, but doesn't process the command - doesn't show the spoken word as text on the screen, just - DOESN'T.

Just upgraded to iOS 14.

Have it ticked to answer on hey Siri but doesn’t hear me, however she is working ok when I just hold the home button.

it’s a start.
