I have 3 x HomePod minis running 17.6 when I ask Siri where am I. Siri responds she doesn’t know where I’m at!

On my HomePod running 17.5 it knows where I’m at. (Gives my address)

Anyone else come across this bug?

Yes I am also experiencing this issue on my HomePod mini running 17.6. Location seems to work fine after rebooting the HomePod mini then it stops working again after some time.

Same here. Can’t get weather predictions any longer. The kids use our Echo Show in the kitchen now on school days. „Siri gets dumber and dumber every update“, they say. It‘s getting hard to argue respectively I‘m getting tired to.

I asked HomePod Siri to make a call to my wife today for the first time in a long while. Siri asked who I am. Fine, maybe I wasn’t clear. After I said my name, Siri proceeds to tell me to unlock my iPhone first. Well that kinda defeats the purpose of voice recognition and using it hands free. If I had my phone in my hand, I would just use that instead 🤦‍♂️.

When did this become a thing? This feature used to work just fine without issue. I’m on 17.5. How can such a premium device with just two freaking jobs (play audio and respond to requests) regress so badly over the years?!? Making calls is a basic main feature of the HomePod. To top it off, we haven’t even really had new features in a while so all those bug fix updates are just smoke and mirrors. These things should be highly polished by now, however, I can go on all day about all the dumb things my HomePods do.

Will we ever have useable HomePod software? I’m highly skeptical at this point.

On a brighter side, I can say that using whole home AirPlay 2 audio is working good. I guess I can’t have it all.
