i thought only rental car agencies buy new Chevy's. I was unaware that normal people are actually buying brand new Chevy's given the choice between that and pretty much every other car on the road. If for some crazy reason I decided to buy a brand new American car, Chevy would be my absolute last choice. Ford has them beat by a mile in terms of standard trim and quality. (please exclude the Volt and all Chevy trucks from my statements, since those fall under a much different purchasing category than a Malibu).

Can't wait for iOS In The Car, especially since I plan on buying a car next year. But don't forget that it won't be appearing until next year, which means *2015* models. It's not surprising that the lead time had to be a full year+. Car manufacturers have to lock stuff like that off very early, and they're probably deep into dealing with the integration of it right now.

I'm still glad that Apple announced it so early because I might have bought a new car before then. I'd rather wait and get full dash integration.

Where did you hear/see this? Who says manufacturers won't make it compatible with their 2014, 2013, 2012, etc. models?

Well, I was just assuming based on articles such as this one:

On one hand the basic idea of i.I.T.C. is that it'll let iOS remotely control a dummy screen making it mostly independent of whatever is in the dash, but on the other hand I seriously doubt it'll be as simple as a software upgrade to old systems. There will be likely be various hardware requirements to supporting it that won't be met by existing systems.

But hey if it works in some older systems that will be great too.
