Does anyone here actually use Siri for dictating messages on their phone? I find it cumbersome, having to point out . and ! by voice.

Is it really that useful? One sentence messages is fine, but what about 2-3 sentences?

I "text" while I drive by using dictation. It's amazingly accurate... And when it's not, it can sometimes be really funny :D

As a matter of fact, many times I prefer dictating rather than typing on the phone.

I use Siri for dictation when it is appropriate. I.e not in front of people that would make me look like a dbag.

I usually use it either when my phone is in my jacket pocket and I'm listening to music, so it's quite easy just to activate Siri and reply to a text, or when I'm on my own at home (with noone to judge me...) as my phone's usually charging and I can just use 'Hey, Siri'.

I think most people agree they will only use Siri when they are by themselves. So is the watch mainly just good for notifications and telling the time?

Seriously?

Those are two of the many use cases for this device. Two of the most prominent ones, but still only two of many. And keep in mind that, Siri aside, it also provides contextual quick-reply options for text messages.

If you seriously want to know what this device is "mainly just good for" beyond those two uses you highlighted, check out Apple's website.
