When I use Siri to send a text message, it often does not read the text message back to me.

For example, if I say " Hey Siri, send a message to bob saying I will be late" I would expect the following:

Siri: "Your message to bob says 'I will be late.' Send it?"

Instead about 75% of the time I just get: "Send it?" without Siri reading the contents of the message to me.

I also get a situation where about 15% of the time Siri won't reply to me using voice. So if I say "Hey Siri, what time is it?" my phone will show the siri animation and then display the time, but won't actually read me the results of the time verbally. But a second later, if I tell Siri to set a timer, it will do so with all of the verbal interactions. So it seems very inconsistent.

Is there anything I can do to fix this? It was similar, though much much worse prior to iOS 16 where siri would just not talk (randomly) about 50% of the time.

I would say “I don’t have this issue,” but that’s what ***holes around here say. Having said that, Siri does work properly when I ask her to send a text. Hope you get it working.

Ha, mine just started this crap where it starts rambling about something along the lines of "it looks like you usually use messages to message nicole, I will use that, ready to send it?"

Siri has been a nightmare for as long as she’s been a thing. I don’t really use her for much outside of turning off lights/setting timers.
