Perhaps the developers should be spending more time fixing the bugs then adding snarky answers to Siri

Perhaps this shows that they clearly are at work.

Remember that every OS X/iOS release has two stages:

1: Major features intro'd at WWDC
2: Additional major features first shown at the release event.

I bet money that one of the first comments would be from someone who thinks that Apple doing one small thing prevents them from doing other things :p

After all, Apple only has 3 people, and sometimes one of them is in the bathroom.

For those that are running the iOS8 beta,
What does Siri say when you ask her...

What happens at MacRumors on a slow news day?

Siri says... MacRumors' awesome editors find fun stories to keep you guys from having to look at a boring, stagnant front page!

We appreciate it man. There's a hater in every article posted these days.

Google Voice pretty much smacks Siri. I can't think of a single way it's better.

Siri doesn't require you to tap on the screen to do some actions. Google Now (not google voice) stops talking to your earlier in many scenarios. Siri is also quicker assuming the recognition speed was the same because with Google Now there is a timer that counts down before some actions occur while Siri immediately does the action. Also, Google Now is built around Google search while Siri is built around a personal assistant which means its more intuitive naturally. (Some people that have Google Now may not know what it does besides google search but everyone with an iPhone knows about Siri)

Other than that, Google Now is quicker in some areas, offers predictive cards and does a few more things and is available cross platform.

Actually that's pretty close to the truth. Apple generally doesn't hire new employees to work on new projects, instead they hire the best people they can whenever they can and then shuffle programmers from one project to another as Apple changes which projects they're deciding to put more resources into. So yes, when Apple puts more effort into one project it usually DOES mean that some other project is getting fewer resources put into it.

So is Siri still in beta? I don't recall anything indicating it was officially "released" yet.

Who gets to make these has a fun job..

I was wondering what the design review meetings must be like...

'Today's topics:

  • Snarky answers to what Siri thinks about iOS8
  • Sentimental responses to those grieving the loss of iOS6
  • Witty responses to Android Lovers trying to trip up Siri at the Apple Store
  • Brainstorming session: Less annoying equivalent phrases to "I'm really sorry but I can't take any requests right now. Please try again in a little while..."

I find Cortana to be the best. That said, she isn't enough to push me to windows phone.... Yet.

Yeah, I appreciate all the witty Siri replies, but I do wish the service could be improved. I use Siri a lot for reminders, but with her confusing "and" and "add" (as in "add to list 'x' get groceries") it's sometimes easier to just type in my entry.

What really happened...

User - "Siri, do you like iOS eight?"

Siri - "Here are some pictures of people in jorts."

I agree with a lot of that other than Google now is usually faster with most actions. Google Now does do at lot of personal assistant stuff but not as intuitively as siri. I like that siri confirms your action and actions right away but she can be really slow at times.

I am making myself use Siri more. I choose to believe it/she learns my style better with time, and that one day I'll be able to talk full speed, normal tone and she'll transcribe.

Hope I'm not wasting my time.

Strangely enough, iOS never used garbage collection, and relied on manual and later automatic reference counting exclusively in Cocoa.
