Siri does not work when using iOS 14 and CarPlay on my 2020 Lexus rx350. Siri turns on but immediately turns off without doing anything. it works fine over Bluetooth when I disconnect the usb connection. It will work when connected to usb when CarPlay is deactivate. This has been a problem with all three beta versions of iOS 14. It was not an issue with the ios 13. Does anybody have any suggestions?

CarPlay has always been something that has been inconsistent when it came to users' experiences.

Some people say they never experienced a bug or glitch ever using CarPlay, other say they can barely use it.

I think the inconsistencies are due to some combination of iOS version, iPhone model, app and features used, CarPlay head unit, and the user's tolerance.

I will probably wait and see how CarPlay is with iOS 14 before updating any of my iPhones to it.

Thanks for letting us know.

Yeah... I am one of those who have zero issues with iOS 14 CarPlay. Plugged in, with my 2017 Accord EX, no problems whatsoever!

I did notice that when Siri is invoked, there is no 'Siri is ready' ding; rather - it goes directly into listening, which is then followed by a ding that signals Siri stopped listening. Same happens on Bluetooth for me. Filed the feedback.

I have the 2019 NX300 and have the opposite issue - when connected to BT the Siri connection will be shut off by the car before I can say anything but it works perfectly when using CarPlay.

I would guess that 99% of the CarPlay issues are typically head unit/OEM car manufacturer based. Too many variables, especially with a beta and too few firmware updates from stereo/car manufacturers.
