Interesting there's so many negative comments... given Apple generally is a little late coming to the party, but tends to really hit it home when they do, I'm expecting this will be a very exciting WWDC. I think SIRI in particular is going to see a huge improvement.
You can't hide competence in AI. Go listen to Marco & Siracusa explain these things in detail. WWDC is not Santa Claus.

Apple has deep organizational issues and they're behind in software and services. Way, way, behind in things like Machine Learning and AI.

Unfortunately, that is the best Apple can offer lately.

They better hit it big this year, but I do not think that is going to happen based upon the rumors lately.

I use Siri on a daily basis for calls, appointments, reminders, Google searches, and Wolfram Alpha info.
Exactly! People need to open their eyes and realize that Siri actually does a ton of really awesome stuff! And I'd add a few more I use every day: reading texts, weather, timers, alarms, movie info and HomeKit for my lights! Not to mention you can now choose three different high quality accents in male or female for english, without changing the recognition accent. I welcome more skills and even more consistent operation, but currently it's still fantastic!

Jesus Christ, I hope not! I think it will be Jeff Williams but I am quite unfamiliar with him.

When is Siri going to become vaguely useful?
if it was a dog, they would have had it put down by now.
I don't use Siri a lot but it rarely fails me - notes, reminders, alarms, calling/texting people, directions, etc. all work well for me.

It could be much better but it's certainly useful.

Tim resigns.... Then who takes over?

Tim gets no love on MR. But let's be honest..... Who would do a better job than Tim right now?

Anyone with a clue. Tim's great at watching warehouses but not at predicting where tech is going.

Apple should buy Tesla and install Musk as the CEO.

Hey,

Wouldn't it be cool if Siri could actually understand what you're saying? Alexa almost always gets it right. Siri not so much...

I use Siri every day. If you don't it's because you're not trying and it isn't integrated into your workflow and talking to a computer is a little unnatural and has to be explored before you'll know what can be expected.

Today I asked Siri about the weather in the city I'm visiting, dictated a half dozen iMessages in two languages, controlled the lights and made several FaceTime audio calls.

The real problem with Siri is that after spending several hours on the Mac at work you get in the keyboard and mouse mindset and catch yourself doing something inefficiently out of habit. This happens to me on the Apple TV all the time.

Where's your source to make this ridiculous claim? You work at Apple? You have inside knowledge of their work on AI or Siri? Please, save us the wait, oh great seer - tell us all about what we're going to see at WWDC along with what Apple is doing in regards to AI.

Please stop telling us how Siri is useful. It's not allowed and you must refrain from doing so. You are only allowed to bash Siri with personal anecdotes about how it fails, and are prohibited from personal anecdotes were Siri works well.

And for those who don't get the obvious, /S

Buy a useless company like Tesla, who's going to get steamrolled by GM (and everyone else)? Hire Musk, who is more concerned with flash then actually making useful products (the massive failure that is the Model X with Falcon Wing doors is a perfect example)?

I've got a better idea. Apple should hire you. Clearly you're far more intelligent and qualified than Cook or anyone else at Apple.

To be honest... unless you work on the Siri team at Apple, you have no clue how behind or ahead they are. No one does. Just because there's been slow progress up until now, does not mean there isn't a major upgrade coming.

And yes... WWDC is Santa Clause to many of us.

It would be cool if Siri told one person in the world something minor (but true) that would happen at WWDC.

More than half the time she can't find my lights to turn on or off, its quicker to unlock my phone fire up the app and manually switch them, then it is to repeat the statement to Siri over and over again
