Siri restricted to newer machines?

Anyone know if Siri is restricted to newer machines or if it is available on all Sierra supported macs?

From what I understand, the feature is available on all Sierra compatible computers.

It worked fine. Guess all Macs can do it.

Awesome. Glad to see that they didn't limit Siri to newer models with dual mics.

Not in my case. MBA 11" 2012. Siri works, microphone works, but nothing happens when I talk to her / him / it...

There waveform reacts to my voice, but nothing else...

Yes, also an unsupported MBP 5,1 (late 2008). Very responsive.
