Great! Now, is Spotify fully supported on HomePod yet? Seems like all the pieces are in place now.
Maybe they don't use Siri, might have switched it off in settings for whatever reasonWhy do you need to set the default Siri music streaming service without Siri?

Nope.
I imagine will be with 14.5Great! Now, is Spotify fully supported on HomePod yet? Seems like all the pieces are in place now.
It will be much sooner. I think we will see it by the end of March.Wondering when14.5 will go GM and final release.
I used to keep up on the time frames. I'm guessing mid year, but the mask feature would be great ASAP.
The same is true for Podcasts. If you try to ask Siri to play a podcast while in the car you get in an endless loop where Siri is asking you what to play with but you have no way to select it. Only when I tried it out of the car did I realize what was going on.Apple last week released beta versions of upcoming iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5 updates to developers and public beta testers, and among a number of new features, Apple has added the ability to set a default music streaming service when using Siri to play songs.
HomePod is an Siri device..I can’t imagine why it won’tThis really needs to be enabled on the HomePod. Ive got amazon prime and YouTube premium.. Im not paying for another service that gives me what the other two do. This is holding me back home getting a few extra HomePod minis.
because this song is hardwired in siriAfter reading the article, I tried it for myself while already playing music from my phone.
I asked Siri to play "Moonlight Drive by The Doors" (the exact song in the article) Siri automatically started playing the requested song on Spotify and I didn't need to specify which app to use.
If u don’t use Siri u can just select the music app u use lol. you can delete Apple MusicMaybe they don't use Siri, might have switched it off in settings for whatever reason
Proof that MacRumors forum threads are all over the place 😂"iPhone vibration power has been turned to maximum. Enjoy!"
Never been a fan of Apple Music, but just switched from Spotify to AM because of HomePod and the experience improved a lot. Not thinking to return to Spotify soon, AM has actually evolved really nicely. So it means that you can use the HomePod and Spotify finally with Siri soon ?
Perhaps for CarPlay, or for when the iPhone anticipates the next apps you are likely going to open, or through Shazam, etc.
Just guessing.
