siri sneaking my gps

i used siri over 10 minutes ago and was putting my phone to sleep when i noticed the gps/location services arrow was on! one by one i closed every task and it was still on so i went into my settings and found the purple arrow on siri! as siri is not a process i can kill why would this happen? is siri spying on me? even when i flipped the switch off and on the arrow went away and came right back! is this a batterygate? booo

That is Siri needing to know where you are, in case you ask to find something.

Did you by any chance ask Siri to alert you when you left or arrived someplace?

no, i have no pending reminders. a couple days ago i used location reminders one time, but i would have noticed the arrow. for the record it is still on after about an hour now.

What color is it? Green means it has used it in the last 24 hours, blue is active.

I think you mean grey and purple. It was purple.
