I've just used Siri to recognise a song and realised it unlocked my phone without asking for a passcode or TouchID. I've tried it a few times and it works each time.

Does this happen for anybody else? Using the following steps:

1) Ask Siri what song is playing and allow it to identify
2) Press the Buy button

You're then taken into iTunes and the phone is unlocked.

I'm a bit concerned but don't have any other iOS devices running to test. I'm using iOS 8.0.1.

EDIT: False alarm - it was TouchID recognising the finger and silently unlocking the phone in the background. Pretty good feature actually. Thanks to everybody for checking!

Apple made Siri on the lock screen the biggest security threat of the iPhone.

IT SHOULD NOT BE ON BY DEFAULT.

First of all, the following security flaws are in there since iOS 7:

On top of that comes the problem you mentioned

ALSO

If you ask Siri to search for a picture and then click on it it unlocks your iPhone too.

What is going on with Apple, they are completely incompetent as of late.

Yeah, boy, how incompetent can you get? They made it so that it unlocks with the finger that YOU registered. Bastards!

THIS IS NOT A SECURITY ISSUE.

THIS IS THE TOUCHID READING YOUR FINGERPRINT!

Here's the test -- use a knuckle, or someone ELSE's finger to call Siri. It does NOT unlock the phone.

Yeah, a lot of these "security" issues are found in such a manner where the registered finger is used or the phone isn't actially locked at the moment.
