Asked SIRI who wrote the "Ugly Duckling" and the response was info about the movie and screenwriter. Asked again but stated "Who wrote the book, the Ugly Duckling". Received same answer. Went to Google and asked in the microphone the same question and immediately received the answer "Hans Christian Anderson" along with pics and a bio.

This happens with SIRI 95% of the time. Why bother. Go Google!

IMHO Siri sucks because Bing blows green hairy chunks.

I fix this bit by dictating "Use Google to search for ____" at the Siri prompt and that gets Safari open with web search results. QED.

Yeah, Siri could use a bit more refinement. I use Siri infrequently but mostly works well enough. Once the bugs have been worked out, I'd use it more when it can perform more complex functions.

Sure, but we're now four iPhones since its introduction. Shouldn't the bugs be worked out already? For a service that apple is so proud of (and advertises as a feature specifically) it sure doesn't seem to be used all that much.

I won't use Siri, it's that bad. I tried it once on calling a business from my car - if littering was not illegal, I would have tossed that phone out the window of the car. After 5 tries, I did the same thing as the OP - fired up Google and it worked first time.

Is it possible Siri simply does not understand all voices equally?
